Turquoise is a mineral that is formed by chemical reaction occurs when water containing such as copper or aluminum leaks through a rock. It forms in veins and later forms into a clump of turquoise.

The color is determined by which chemicals and minerals are present. You are most familiar with the blue turquoise and its color comes from the content of copper .

Traditionally the most valuable Turquoise has always come from Iran.

Now the southwest United States has become one of the world leaders in all things Turquoise.

The Anasazi, in The Southwestern part of the United States had opened their turquoise mine by 1000 AD.

This set is a unique color of Mosiac Turquoise that reminds us of a lot of little pieces of stone all blended together.

The other component I used here is Black Sapphire which is similar to Black Onyx but a harder stone at about 8 on Mohs Scale. I realy like this stone as it polishes to a higher sheen than the Onyx.

This necklace measures 18 " on wire with Stainless Steel Lobster Clasp and along with the earrings they make for a very unique look.
